The Daily Guggie Daly: Confessions of a Mom who Witnessed Circumcision
A mother watches her infant son be circumcised. Fortunately for the baby, he was anesthesized with a dorsal block and was spared much of the pain of the circumcision.

The Daily Guggie Daly: Confessions of a Mom who Circumcised
A mother writes a letter to her son apologizing for having him circumcised shortly after he was born. She now realizes that infant circumcision is a mistake.

The Daily Guggie Daly: Catholics who Circumcised, Do not Despair
Circumcision is strongly condemned and opposed by the Catholic Church. Unfortunately, many American Catholics believe circumcision is either inconsequential to their faith or a necessary practice of their faith.

Daily Sundial: Would an uncircumcised man be a stop sign in the bedroom?
Many comments to the post asking this question confirm that an intact penis, that is, one that is not circumcised, is desirable in the bedroom. "No, uncircumcised penis can be very welcome sight." "Women who have had sex with circumcised and intact men prefer intact men 8 to 1. (O'Hara)" See Women overwhelmingly prefer sex with a man who has a foreskin.

Pogo: We have met the enemy and he is us. (Why do we continue to circumcise our baby boys?)Parents, protect your babies. Support intactivism. The following list includes blogs, articles, and websites of interest to Intactivists that were published in the past week. This is a running tally of the ones I found interesting.

The graphic accompanying this post refers to my despair at how humans treat each other. Circumcision and genital cutting of children continues because parents allow it. Instead of protecting their children from harm, parents allow others to cut off parts of their children's genitals.

The Case Against Infant Circumcision: The Circumcision Lies 1
In order to continue and promote infant circumcison, circumcision advocates lie about the normal human anatomy, such as that the foreskin serves no function. They ignore that the foreskin is erogenous tissue.

A Facebook event page has more details about the intactivist vigil to support genital integrity and inform others of the harm of infant circumcision and genital cutting of children. The genital integrity vigil is sponsored by W.O.N.- Whole Oregon Newborns.

Rockin' Momma: I'm going to give my newborn a tattoo!
Why do people get upset with giving babies tattoos, but they are OK with cutting off part of a baby boys sex organ? Circumcision sux!

The Daily Guggie Daly: Confessions of an Intact Teen
A 13 year old intact boy watched a circumcision video and had this to say: "It made me sick to my stomach. I can't believe the doctor did that to a baby. I can't believe people like that are allowed to walk free after torturing a baby on their most sensitive spot. Why did the dad just sit there? Why didn't the dad hit the doctor, push him away, grab his baby and run?" Read more . . .

Above the Law did a review of The Good Men Project Magazine article that interviewed Tally last week. Above the Law poked fun at Tally and his efforts to tug his penis to restore his foreskin. I loved it! The article increased traffic to this site and to Restoring Foreskin.org. The more men that learn about foreskin restoration, the more men who may consider leaving their future sons intact.

Childbirth and… The Benefits of Keeping the Penis Intact
More parents are leaving their sons intact by avoiding circumcision of their sons. The article describes the increased health benefits in addition to the unequivocal pleasures of foreskin later in life.

YouTube video by freedom0speech: The Doctors: Daytime Talk Show Disaster
Doubting Marcus: The Doctors on San Francisco’s Proposed Circumcision Ban
freedom0speech does a good job of disecting and rebutting The Doctors show on male infant circumcision. The show aired on the 12th of January 2011 and was blatantly pro-circ. It is a very well done and sourced video on male circumcision that shoots down all the preposterous reasons people give as to why it's okay.

My Christian Family's Blog: The Doctors: Daytime Talk Show Disaster
Commentary about The Doctors, a daytime television show. The Doctors flippantly discussed circumcision and the proposed circumcision ban sought in San Francisco, California.

Talk Birth - a blog about active birth: GENITALS: Are They Dirty, Or Functional?
A mother describes how everyone assumes that men's foreskins are dirty. She notes that many body parts are notorious for getting dirty, but no one advocates amputating ears or toes or fingernails. She makes some very sound arguments against male infant circumcision.

The following list includes blogs, articles, and websites of interest to Intactivists that were published in the past week. This is a running tally of the ones I found interesting.

The start of the new year brings us several good intactivist blogs. It also brings us a new study from Wawer and the other circumcision campaigners. This time they find a link between male circumcision and HPV. The authors ignore their previous study results that show male circumcision increases HIV infections for the men's female partners. The media has latched onto the study and numerous outlets are advertising the link between foreskin and HPV.

The Daily Guggie Daly: Circumcision and Religion (Condensed Version)
If you are Jewish, you do NOT have to circumcise. The blessing with the cutting is not required. You can do the blessing without the cutting. For Christians, circumcision is gravely immoral. When done for religious reasons, it represents a denial of Christ's divinity. It denies that Christ is the Redeemer.

Susan Katz Keating: A Newly Recognized National Security Threat? A Guest Post By Erin Keating
A mother makes some common sense arguments supporting genital integrity of baby boys. She addresses many of the usual reasons that parents give for infant circumcision. Read more . . .

Male Circumcision and HIV:  Four years and counting ... circumcision still has no place in HIV/AIDS prevention efforts
David Wilton describes how and why he started his blog four years ago. David writes about a recent study by pro-circ advocate Robert Bailey that states: "This study did not detect the expected association between male circumcision and HIV seropositivity, possible (sic) due to limitations in sample size and prevalence. With 38% of men and nearly 65% of women HSV-2 positive, however, our ability to detect any association between genital herpes and circumcision status or preference for circumcised partners was improved - no association was found."

Intactivism: Week in Review December 25, 2010

On this Christmas day, I wish that parents become informed and learn that it is time for male infant circumcision to stop.

YouTube Video: U.S. Administration Violates Human Rights
freedom0speech presents a compelling review of the US role in supporting male genital cutting for the misguided circumcision campaign against HIV. The real world results do not support the flawed studies supported by the CDC. Many African countries have higher HIV infection rates in areas where male circumcision is already high. Unfortunately, the Centers for Disease Control appears poised to instigate a policy supporting male infant circumcision. The video is a call to action for everyone to contact the CDC to tell them that cutting the genitals of infant boys is a human rights violation. Read more . . .

This week marks the 40th anniversary of Van Lewis's arrest for intactivism. Van lewis and his brother were jailed in Florida's capital city, on 17 December, 1970, for peacefully protesting against infant circumcision while on the public sidewalk in front of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. They were charged with disturbing the peace and spent a day in jail. Van continues as an intactivist.

Van became the Legislative Liaison and President of Florida's Chapter of the National Organization of Circumcision Information Resource Centers, a Certified Educator for Doctors Opposing Circumcision, and an active participant/protester in the Stop Infant Circumcision Society.

To mark the 40th anniverary, Van Lewis demonstrated against infant circumcision at the same place where he was arrested 40 years ago. Read more . . .
