Male Circumcision and HIV:  Four years and counting ... circumcision still has no place in HIV/AIDS prevention efforts
David Wilton describes how and why he started his blog four years ago. David writes about a recent study by pro-circ advocate Robert Bailey that states: "This study did not detect the expected association between male circumcision and HIV seropositivity, possible (sic) due to limitations in sample size and prevalence. With 38% of men and nearly 65% of women HSV-2 positive, however, our ability to detect any association between genital herpes and circumcision status or preference for circumcised partners was improved - no association was found."

The WHOLE Network: A Journey to Restoration
A man writes about how being circumcised affected him. He ultimately restored his foreskin and feels much better about his body. Although, he still bears the emotional scars of his infant circumcision. “What circumcision did to my body is bad enough, but what it did to my mind is worse.”

The Week Magazine: The top 7 parenting controversies of 2010
The first item on the list of top parenting controversies is male infant circumcision. On any parenting website, posting about infant circumcision is sure to draw an argument.

CultureMap Houston: Skip the snip? Galveston becomes an unlikely battleground for the circumcision debate
An article about the Galveston billboard against infant circumcision and for genital integrity. The article notes that the male infant circumcision rate in the US for 2009 had fallen to 32.5%. Georganne Chapin of Intact America told the Galveston Daily News, “Our mission is to do away with forced, unconsented circumcision of children.

Rabbit Write: Female Circumcision Promoted in Playgirl–Whaaat?!
Rabbit Write found an article in a 1973 issue of Playgirl promoting female circumcision. The article promoted female circumcision as a way to promote women's sex life. Her post has a YouTube video where she reads from the article. She notes that Blue Cross Blue Shield and other insurers covered female circumcision (FGM) until 1977. Female circumcision only became illegal in 1996 in the US. She notes that the type of FGM promoted in the article is similar to male circumcision because both remove the prepuce.

The Vancouver Courier: Letter of the week
A tongue-in-cheek letter from Glen Callender. He writes about a beer bong that uses a large penis, one that is circumcised. He humorously makes the point that if the penis beer bong had a foreskin, it would be more natural.

Winnipeg Free Press: The '10 honour roll - Prominent Manitobans who left us this year
An obituary for John Taylor, 78, who died on October 17, 2010. Newborn boys in North America can thank him for not being circumcised. He was a doctor and pathologist who after several years of research published a groundbreaking article in the British Journal of Urology in 1996 about the foreskin and what is lost when a male is circumcised. The research led to changes in routine circumcisions in both Canada and the United States.

One Yawn: No Cutting, Thank You
A mother describes her reasons for leaving her son intact. Her husband wanted his son to be circumcised so that junior would look like him, not be made fun in the locker room, and the other usual lame reasons. She resisted and the baby remained whole.
